A typical pony camp will start with children bringing their ponies in from the field before grooming them and getting them ready for a day of fun. Activities during the week include jumping, handy pony, gymkhana games, cross-country and lots more. Rosettes will be awarded throughout the week for various activities and members of the pony club can work towards their badges.
Following the fun had from previous years, this year children aged 8 to 13 years will stay at Somerby Village Hall for the duration of the week and will be supervised by a member of staff (children aged 14 - 16 years by arrangement only). Drop off at 9am on first day of camp, collection 3.30pm on last day of camp. Please drop their belongings at the Village Hall first, and then come straight to the Riding School to pay and drop your child off ready to ride etc.
Each child will need to bring the following for use during their stay;
- Sleeping bag, torch, pillow and single berth lilo or similar to sleep on
- Bath towel, toiletries and swim wear
- Pocket money (no more than £5 please)
We strongly advise against bringing mobile phones, ipods, etc as we cannot be held responsible for their loss or damage.
The five day pony camp is £350 (deposit £150), the three day pony camp is £210 (deposit £110). All meals and activities (e.g. swimming 5 day only) are included. Children can bring their own pony for an additional £10. A discount is available for more than one child.
